Individual & Group Therapy
Individual therapy sessions are a typical starting place for most people when coming in for therapy. This is a great option for those who want an individualized approach in their treatment. Typically, the first 1-2 sessions involve an evaluation where I will be gathering as much information and history about you and the symptoms that have brought you in. From there, you and I will discuss goals and things that you would most like to focus on over the course of therapy. We will also discuss what type of treatments will best help you reach your goals.
Group therapy sessions can be done in addition to individual therapy sessions, or they can be helpful for those looking to gain more insight into a certain topic. Some people enjoy working in a group environment where they can get feedback from others, listen, and connect. Groups typically run for 4-8 weeks, depending on the subject. Check back in to see what groups are being offered, or feel free to reach out if you have a topic you would be interested in diving into!
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, commonly referred to as EMDR, is an evidence based treatment for PTSD, trauma, and many other issues. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR involves less talk and more processing which is done in the brain and body. This treatment helps to move along disturbing memories that have become “stuck” and are replaying in the mind over and over. By doing this, the brain and body is able to make sense of disturbing memories so they do not continue to intrude and overwhelm you. If you have been in therapy before and have seen little improvement, EMDR can be a great option in moving you along through your healing process.
Reasons you may need a coach: You have a desire to accelerate results, you aren’t living to full potential, your work and personal life are out of balance, you lack clarity in decision-making, or you need someone who can hold you accountable and guide you on the journey to achieving your goals.
